USCIS Announces FY 2027 Inflation Increase for Certain Immigration-Related Fees

USCIS Announces FY 2027 Inflation Increase for Certain Immigration-Related Fees

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced inflation-related increases to certain immigration fees for Fiscal Year 2027.

The updated fees are required under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) and are based on inflation adjustments using the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U). The new fees apply to certain immigration-related requests beginning October 16, 2026.

Which Fees Are Increasing?

Not all immigration fees are changing. For FY 2027, USCIS announced increases for several fees, including:

  • Annual pending asylum application fee: $102 → $105
  • Initial asylum applicant EAD (Form I-765): $560 → $570
  • Initial parole EAD (Form I-765): $560 → $570
  • Initial TPS EAD (Form I-765): $560 → $570
  • TPS application fee (Form I-821): $510 → $520
  • Immigration parole fee (Form I-131): $1,020 → $1,050

Several other fees remain unchanged, including the initial asylum application fee of $100 and the $275 renewal or extension fee for an asylum applicant EAD.

When Do the New Fees Take Effect?

The new FY 2027 fees apply to immigration benefit requests postmarked on or after October 16, 2026.

USCIS states that filings submitted with an incorrect fee on or after that date may be rejected. Applicants should therefore confirm the correct filing fee before submitting an immigration application or request.

For individuals preparing a green card or other immigration filing, checking the current USCIS fee before submitting is especially important.
